How long do I have to wait for treatment?

Whether or not you have been arrested and/or charged; if you access the Drug Interventions Programme (DIP) and agree for agencies to share your information, you will be able to access treatment (and other services) as a priority.

DIP workers will support you at all times to ensure your continuity of care-whether in a custody suite, courts, prison or the community.

If you are looking for counselling and on-going support you may be seen through our drop-in service on the day you refer (or if you make an appointment - within 10 working days).

If you are looking for medical intervention then the answer to this question changes with demand. This will be answered by the Community Psychiatric Nurse to whom you are assigned.
