Accredited Training for ADSiS Volunteers
The Foundation Course in Working with Alcohol and Substance Users is accredited by Stoke on Trent College in the Community and is registered as an OCN (Open College Network) Level 3 Programme.
To reflect this, the course is 10 days from 9.30am till 4pm daily and attendance is mandatory on all days. The course has a variety of learning methods to consolidate the learners understanding. Homework is given on most evenings (no more than 40 minutes per night) again to reflect the level of learning.
Pride Accredited Training
ADSiS has several courses that are Pride Accredited, some of these are specifically designed for Young People and some are versatile in target groups. TANKED (Teaching Alcohol kNowledge Keeps Everyone Drier) and HEMP (Cannabis pack) are among some of the courses that are Pride Accredited.
Other Training
ADSiS commits to the personal development of its staff and volunteers and provides training in relation to needs identified, at no cost to individuals (unless in exceptional circumstances).
Certificates of attendance are given for in-house and external training.
