Training

Quality Standards and Assurance

Adsis have achieved recognition as 'centre approved' by both the National Open College Network and ASET.  This allows the service to deliver a portfolio of accredited awards and qualifications at varying levels, not only to our paid and unpaid workers but also our clients and external organisations.

In order to achieve this recognition Adsis have been rigorously assessed in numerous areas of teaching and learning, quality and assessment. In order to maintain this recognition and standards of training provision Adsis have annual reviews from both NOCN and EDI.

Accredited Training for Staff and Volunteers

Tackling Substance Misuse Level 3, accredited by qualification through the National Open College Network (NOCN) is the minimum requirement all paid and unpaid practitioners undertake.

There is no impetus on volunteers to actually undertake the qualification, but they must meet the minimum requirements of the qualification in order to support clients on a one to one basis.

Adsis also have several training packages that have received 'PRIDE' accreditation which is an endorsement of good training practice from the Staffordshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team.  Adsis supports the development of individuals and training is tailored to their job role and specific needs, which may includes both accredited and non accredited courses.

Personal, Local and National Standards Development

Adsis commits to the personal development of its staff and volunteers and provides training in relation to identified needs, at no cost to individuals (unless exceptional circumstances).  Certificates of attendance are given for in-house and external training.

Learner Support

Adsis have a network of internal and external resources to support learners on any of the courses that are offered.  Each course is designed to enhance learning and development by offering a variety of differing learning styles to consolidate the needs of all learners.

Adsis has several courses that are Pride Accredited, some of these are specifically designed for Young People and some are versatile in target groups. TANKED (Teaching Alcohol kNowledge Keeps Everyone Drier) and HEMP (Cannabis pack) are among some of the courses that are Pride Accredited.
